Cane Corso.

The Cane Corso pronounced ka-neh Korso also known as the Italian Mastiff is a large Italian breed of dog highly valued for centuries as a companion, guard and a hunter.

His direct ancestor is the canis pugnax (the old Roman Molossian dog) who was employed in the hunting of large game and also as an an auxiliary warrior on the battlefield.
In more modern times the cane corso continues to grow In popularity as a stable family guardian. Highly trainable and responsive to commands corso’s are said to be the most intelligent of all the mastiff breeds.
They are unbelievably  affection towards their family and would happily lay their lives down to protect their loved ones.

This breed is not for everyone they are strong and very powerful and need daily physical and mental  exercise and a calm and confident owner so think properly before deciding to add a cane corso to your family as these dogs live up to around 12 years.
